National studies have shown that certain lifestyle and personal characteristics can lead to an increase in heart disease. An attempt to modify or reduce these risk factors is seen as a successful sword in the battle against heart disease.

Cardiac Rehabilitation is a health enhancement program designed to assist individuals in achieving an optimal level of cardiac conditioning by incorporating the needed lifestyle changes into their daily routine.

Newton Memorial Hospital's Cardiac Rehabilitation has been accredited by CARF (Commission on the Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities), as a Health Enhancement Program, JCAHO (Joint Commission on the Accreditation of Hospital Organizations), and AACVPR ( American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation) Certified.
