Pediatric Department

Newton Memorial Hospital's Pediatric Department is committed to family centered care. We recognize that when a child becomes ill, the entire family is affected. Our goal is to meet the needs of your family, from admission through discharge, by providing continuing information and education regarding your child's hospital stay.

Our patients enjoy a comfortable child oriented environment with a well-equipped playroom, children's menu, as well as meals and sleeping accommodations for the parent who chooses to stay with their child. We are confident that our staff of friendly pediatric nurses can assist your family with making a difficult time as pleasant and comfortable as possible.

If your child should need surgery, our Pediatric Department offers a Pre-Surgery Education Program using puppets, films and handouts. We encourage mom or dad to put on a pair of scrubs and escort your child right to the Operating Room where the Operating Room staff is waiting to greet you.
