Newton Memorial Hospital provides services in a variety of specialized areas including General Surgery, Hand, Cosmetic, and Plastic Surgery, Gynecology, Urology, Ophthalmology, Orthopedics, Podiatry, and Ear, Nose and Throat. Our newly renovated operating suite is staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and provides most updated state of the art technology in all areas of surgery.

More than 3500 surgical procedures are performed every year at Newton Memorial Hospital. Should surgery become necessary, you can feel confident that you will be receiving top-quality care from our experienced caring staff of surgeons and personnel.

Our same day surgical suites provide an additional measure of comfort for outpatient and minor surgical and endoscopic procedures.

Medical Surgical Nursing Team

The Medical Surgical Nursing Team is a dynamic group of individuals dedicated to providing competent, individualized and compassionate care. Our staff takes a proactive role in the prevention and management of chronic diseases in the adult and geriatric patient.
Our scope of care covers a wide variety of diagnoses related to Medical Surgical nursing. Typically, we care for patients with cancer, diabetes, infections, cardio-respiratory conditions, cardiovascular accidents and minor trauma. Surgical care is related to general surgery, orthopedic, urology, gynecology, ear, nose and throat conditions.
Our subspecialty of oncology addresses all the needs of the patient with cancer including chemotherapy administration, pain management, respect for end-of-life decisions and referrals to community resources.
As Medical Surgical Nurses, we view ourselves as a vital part of the health care continuum, the foundation of nursing practice. We are committed to providing quality care and advocacy for our patients, their families and the community we serve. Our goal is to strive for excellence and our reward is knowing that we have met the many challenges each encounter brings.
